Learn the Qualifying Conditions for a Mississippi Medical Marijuana Card
Now that getting a medical marijuana card is legal in the state of Mississippi, many citizens of the Magnolia State are unsure of whether their condition will qualify. Although the process of getting a card is easy, the first step is to determine if you have a qualifying condition: a medical condition that could benefit from treatment through the use of medical marijuana.
While you need to meet with a healthcare provider participating in the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program (MMCP) to officially certify your qualifying condition for medical marijuana treatment, it can be helpful to know ahead of time whether your condition would qualify.
The following medical conditions qualify for participation in the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program. Note that if you don’t see a potential qualifying condition listed here, per Miss. Code Ann. 41-137-3, residents of Mississippi can petition the Mississippi Department of Health to add “serious medical conditions or their treatments” to its existing list.
