Three Easy Steps to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in Mississippi

Now that medical marijuana is legal in the state of Mississippi, those who will benefit from using cannabis for their medical condition must first see a practitioner and be approved to get a medical marijuana card. From there, it’s a simple, 3-step process if you have a qualifying condition. 

1. Find Out if You Have a Qualifying Condition
First, you’ll need to determine if you have a qualifying condition to use medical marijuana as a form of treatment. To do this, schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider participating in the Mississippi State Department of Health’s Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program (MMCP). To search for a certified practitioner near you, follow this link. If you’re having trouble locating a practitioner in your area, note that not all practitioners publicly list their participation, so it’s worth reaching out to healthcare providers in your area to see if they’re certified.

2. Register and Apply to the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program
If your healthcare provider determines that you have a qualifying condition, you’ll be approved for a medical marijuana card, and your provider will register you for certification with the MMCP. Within six months of your certification, you’ll be able to apply through the MMCP’s online portal as a “Patient” (just click the “REGISTER” link in the upper right corner to get started). Once your application is completed and approved, you’ll receive an electronic identification card.

3. Download or Print Out Your Card to Start Purchasing Through CANNA+U
